"I've loved working with Lucretia as a facilitator for our Inclusive Mindset workshops over the last year. Great facilitation is hard. Great facilitation around diversity and inclusion in corporate America is particularly tough; yet Lucretia exceeded our expectations. She brought strong prior experience but it was really her willingness to seek and implement feedback and team-player attitude that set her apart. That her NPS scores were indistinguishable from our most experienced facilitator is a testament to her excellence."
— Thomas Igeme, Head of Talent, Turn River Capital
“Working with Lucretia has been a really wonderful experience both personally and for our institution. She has an incredibly approachable style and is great at listening to all the pieces before starting to look for answers. She is incredibly intelligent and absorbs information quickly and she has poignant and thoughtful questions. As a consultant, she has taken over for a person who previously held the role for over 10 years and relatively quickly assessed the critical pieces of the task at hand and delivered with tremendous results. Part way through her consultancy, we had another staff member need to take a leave of absence and Lucretia filled in quickly to support an aspect of their role that was essential to finishing off the enrollment season strong and having students ready for the next school year.
I am someone who prides myself on working quickly to absorb information and solve problems and I can say, without a doubt, that Lucretia Witte is a person after my own heart. She does a wonderful job of allowing space for a check in at the start of a meeting and also gets right to the heart of what needs to be addressed. Her meetings are efficient, effective, and enjoyable.”
— Andrew Lane, Director, The Sharon Academy Middle School
“Thank you for doing a great job with our team’s retreat. I could tell that some of my team was anxious about being in person together after being apart for so long during the pandemic. When you introduced Improv Wisdom as a lens through which to see communication I saw some faces drop. But once you got up and started to demonstrate the activities and engage people, I noticed how much laughter was happening and the anxiety melted away. Later, when you segued into storytelling exercises, it gave a chance for people to really reflect on how their work impacts lives.
All in all, your retreat allowed us to reduce inhibitions, think creatively, and feel a sense of pride for our accomplishments. We would not have been able to do what we needed to do the rest of the day without your session laying the groundwork. But because of you, we were able to think big about vision with a greater sense of connectedness to one another and the mission.”
— Bethany Solomon, Director of Development, Norris Cotton Cancer Center
“Lucretia, thank you so much for coming to speak about your work as a diversity and inclusion consultant during Black History Month. As a primarily white school we are working hard to inspire both action and humility. Your presentation not only gave us ideas about how we can do that but helped us all personally connect to the why.”
— Kate Fabrikant, Director of Human Resources, The Sharon Academy
"Lucretia, I want to personally thank you for hosting yesterday's workshop. Your knowledge, experience, social sensitivity, and compelling examples made the session informative and enjoyable. I appreciated your reminder that human beings are complex creatures. As such, we can sometimes think we're using intuition when in fact, we are exercising an unconscious bias.
Thanks for encouraging great dialogue, sharing many perspectives, and allowing us to learn from one another. Very well done! I hope that you'll lead more sessions and that I'll be fortunate to attend."
— Diana Gray, Senior Manager, Workday
“Your presentation and slide show were exemplary: they gave our students an excellent example of engaging, helpful visuals, and your preparedness, poise, energy and warmth showed them what a really good presenter looks and sounds like.
The personal element was meaningful and captivating: adolescents respond in powerful ways to adult vulnerability and honesty. Your ability to talk about your own personal loss and how it catalyzed your journey toward empathy and inclusion brought them in - gave them a truth and a feeling to hold on to as they listened, and then as they moved into their small group conversations.
The small group conversations made room for our vulnerability and honesty. They gave each of us a chance to share something about ourselves that informs who we are as part of a community. There was a perfect balance of risk-taking and safety.”
— Mary Newman, Head of School, The Sharon Academy
“Working with Lucretia has been such a rewarding experience on many different levels. She is extremely knowledgeable, and brings a perspective that is both refreshing and empowering. We have been able to partner on many things related to Learning and Development and approaching it with a DE&I lens to make improvements to our current programs, and even create new programs to roll out to the firm. She always make my ideas and feelings feel valid, and never approaches our work together in a condescending way. Instead, she is a true thought partner who welcomes my feedback and brings her background and experience to the collaboration process which ultimately results in a productive and positive experience when working on any project with her.”
— Ileana Hinojosa, Lindsay & Brownell, LLP
"At the end of our Equity Audit and the start of our next engagement with Humble Oak, I realized how different it was working with Lucretia than many other consultants we’ve had. I appreciate the punctuality, preparedness, and thoroughness that Lucretia brings to what can be an unfamiliar process. With some of our consultants or partners I feel like I have to keep the trains running on time but I don’t feel that way with Humble Oak.
This has been helpful as we navigated uncharted territory for our organization."
— Amanda Duff, Director of People Operations, Lindsay & Brownell, LLP
“I liked Lucretia’s presentation because it was interactive. It helped us connect to each other. We had to be vulnerable, which helped us learn more about each other and where we come from. It was interesting for me to learn more about where we come from. It helped us connect more deeply with people we know as acquaintances, but not on a deeper level.
‘The fact that she followed up on our Chain Reaction Day questions was good - it meant her discussion was based on questions WE had created, so we clearly cared about the answers.”
— Joey, Student, The Sharon Academy
“Lucretia’s workshop was truly engaging, informative and provided the tools and strategies to support diversity in and out of the classroom.”
— John Higgins, Former Executive Director, Ledyard Charter School
“Lucretia's training brought our staff closer by encouraging us to find similarities in our life experiences that helped shaped who we are today.”
